Chelsea is set to sign Mauricio Pochettino for the sum of £75 Million on the 1st of July this year and he is making changes towards the team to move forward. The Argentine once coached Tottenham Hotspur and Paris Saint-Germain as well as helping PSG to win Ligue 1 In their 2021/2022 season before he got sacked.

This season wasn't a great season for Chelsea, Chelsea ended the season in the 12th season with 11 wins, 11 draws and 16 losses which was the lowest since 1987/1988. Chelsea's beginning Of the season was a promised one as being in the 3rd and 4th position. Thomas Tuchel was sacked by Chelsea despite his efforts on Chelsea by helping them being the defending winners of the Champions League in England in 2021 and making the team to be qualified for the UCL every season until his sacking in 2022.

Many thought it is because he denied the offer to sign Ronaldo or his inability to sign players but the main reason was revealed in April 2023 when he refused Todd and other groups of guests to come inside the dressing room during their win with West Ham in September, shortly afterwards, he signed Potter and everything in Chelsea went upside down starting from the series of losses to their series of spending money on players on January and his bad pitch formation although he managed to put Chelsea in the Champions League quarterfinals which later they got eliminated by Real Madrid after their loss with Aston Villa. Todd Boehly decided to sack Graham Potter despite the £17.5 Million paid to him, afterwards he hired Frank Lampard as the interim manager but still Chelsea is far from the Big four and ended losing the Champions League and also not going to the competition next season. 

Now Todd Boehly has signed Mauricio Pochettino and the signing procedures will end on July 1st Pochettino is already making some arrangements with the club, his plans to sell the players and buy more players for the team to go forward next season but there is a lot of criticism because they think that Pochettino can't coach and many would prefer if Julian Nagelsmann should coach because it was Todd Boehly first choice but Julian dropped the offer and Pochettino was interested in coming to Chelsea and Todd signed him, now this is the players Pochettino wants to sack.

The Players Pochettino wants to sell/remove.

1. Joao Felix. 

Joao Felix came to Chelsea as a loan player from Atletico Madrid by Potter in January, the player is very talented and has potential speed and is also capable to compete with other talented players like Haaland, Mbappe, Oshimen, etc, he has an interest on staying in Chelsea permanently as he is comfortable there but Pochettino has no interest on the Portuguese player and he is going back to Atletico Madrid.

Atletico Madrid President Enrique Cerezo said on  Tuesday "He will come back when his loan ends and we will see what happens. We do not have anything planned but he is an Atletico Madrid player"

2. Dennis Zakaria. 

Dennis Zakaria also is among the people that Pochettino wants to remove. He is set to go back to his former team, Juventus where he was brought on loan in 2022 by Tuchel but Pochettino has no plan of keeping him in the club.

Zakaria is also a talented player but he was benched in every match and he is also not comfortable as well with the coaching.

3. Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

Pierre Emerick Aubameyang said that he is set to leave Chelsea and go back to his former club Barcelona which he joined in the January of 2022. He joined Chelsea after being convinced by Tuchel on the summer transfer of 2022 but after what is happening to Chelsea he is set to join Barcelona since us the only team he could only join as FIFA banned him from joining any other club except Barcelona and Chelsea. 

He is already on the Pochettino removal list due to his bad finishing and accuracy.

 

4. Edourad Mendy. 

Edouard Mendy is also on the Pochettino sacking list despite having a contract that will expire next year, he is planning to sell Mendy for a better Goalkeeper but they are yet to confirm it.

After Kepa recovered from injuries,  Mendy was used less in matches when he was mostly used last year Mendy is not a bad Goalkeeper but managers like Lampard and Potter like to use Kepa in matches.

5. César Azpilicueta.

 The club captain and one of the club's long staying players are also on Pochettino's sacking list but it is not an immediate effect as Azpilicueta is among the pillars of the club and a loyal member of the club.

But Azpilicueta is thinking to leave the club for Barcelona despite his two-year contract with the club but he is still on the decision or it is another rumour made by news sources.

6. Ruben Loftus-Cheek.

Loftus-Cheek is also on Pochettino's list due to his low performance in the team but Loftus-Cheek is set to leave Chelsea to AC Millan next season and he has signed the contract with them and he will say goodbye to the blues this summer.

The 26-year old started his Youth career with Chelsea since 2004 till 2014 where he started his senior career but he was loaned out in 2017 with two teams until his return in 2021 but his low performance in the field and his series of injuries had Pochettino on the list although he is leaving this season. So he is finally say goodbye to the Premier League. 

But other players who might leave Chelsea next season due to their expired contracts while some is due to purchase at a higher price are: N'Golo Kante Kalidou Koulibaly, Trevoh Chalobah and Mateo Kovacic among others. Kovacic having the interests of Manchester City, N'Golo Kante who is about to sign a contract with Al-Itthad, Koulibaly joining Al-Hilal SFC because of the money they offered and Chalobah whose Chelsea is planning to give him out for loan to Inter Milan next season.
