The BET Awards is once here again for the 23rd time this century being held on Sunday 25th of June 2023 in Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles CA to celebrate the best of Entertainment and award the achievement of people in the sector of Sports, Music, Television and Movies in the Black race. The nominations were announced on June 8 with Drake having the highest number of nominations with seven, GloRilla with six, Lizzo and 21 Savage with five, and Beyonce, Burna Boy, Ice Spice, Chris Brown, and SZA with Four. Also, The Viewers Choice Awards category is back Since the 2021 BET awards but not on the last year's awards.

This year's performers were announced on June 15 and on June 23rd, 2023 it was announced that rapper Busta Rhymes the nominee of the Lifetime Achievement Award, will also be the recipient and Patti Labelle will perform a tribute to the late Tina Turner.

The Red Carpet/The main event Summary.


This year's awards are to celebrate 50 years of the existence of Hip Hop and many celebrities are to show on the red carpet to take some pictures in the background of the 50th anniversary of Hip Hop. Many celebrities and legends came out on the red carpet some being the debut on the American red carpet like UK artists  FLO and PinkPantheress even some came like a couple like Summer Walker and Lil Meech. The List of artists who came as guests and also came for the red carpet are Rae Sremmurd, Summer Walker, DaBaby, Moneybagg Yo, Boosie, Victoria Monét, Blxst and NLE Choppa.

Quavo and Offset once again reunite for the performance of "Hotel Lobby (Unc & Phew)" and their classic hit "Bad and Boujee". Also, other artists from different decades came out to perform to celebrate the 50 years of the genre's legacy like Lil Uzi Vert with his hit from November of 2022: "Just Wanna Rock " and an unreleased song from his long-time project "Pink Tape" which is out now and Ice Spice with her hit singles in her first time BET show performance. And Busta Rhymes received the Lifetime Achievement Award from Swizz Beatz and  Marlon Wayans.

Beyoncé and SZA had the majority of the awards with Three each with Beyoncé album: "Renaissance" and SZA's "SOS" having a tie, Beyoncé's  "Break My Soul" won both the Viewer's Choice and BET Her awards and SZA winning Video of the Year with her music video: "Kill Bill" and Winning the best female R&B/Pop Artist
