Players that have departed from Chelsea this season

 Football Players that will not continue their career with Chelsea in the 2023/2024 Season. 

Unfortunately, some almighty legends of Chelsea Football Club are not going to be blues in the 2023/2024 Season. These legends have contributed seriously for the team in the past seasons but due to choices and expired contracts with the club, they have to let go of being a blue and continue their careers in other football teams.

It is not they aren't loyal to the club, is the club that has to let them go due to the fact they cannot afford to maintain them anymore or is for them to see freedom and continue their career in other parts of the world. The decision is also made by the players if another club is ready to buy them at a higher bid or the other team has a good quality.

Below are the list of Chelsea players that will not continue with the club next season.

1. N'Golo Kante. 

Chelsea's special treasure have to say goodbye to the blues as he is set to leave to Saudi Arabia to play with Al-Itthad at his expiration of his contract. A humble and important player for Chelsea played a role for the team and made a big name for himself in Chelsea Football Club.

 



Kante has lifted the World Cup with France and the Premier League, FA Cup, Champions League, Europa League, UEFA Supercup, and the FIFA Club World Cup with Chelsea. It is due of his achievements that Al-Ittihad put interest on him and he is going to work alongside his fellow teammate and fellow Frenchman Karim Benzema. 


2. Kai Havertz. 

The winner of the 2021 Champions League against Manchester City has departed from Chelsea this month to arsenal after completing three seasons with the team. He is going to be one of the important people in Chelsea history for scoring important goals in the 2021 FIFA Club World Cup and the Champions League.




His legendary goals and achievements to the club will be always remarkable and remembered to the heart of the blues.





3. Kalidou Koulibaly. 

Koulibaly has said goodbye to Chelsea to move to Saudi Arabia side Al Hilal after a one full season with the team. He arrived from Napoli in the summer of 2022 and made 32 appearances with the club.

The Captain of the Senegal national team had his reasons why he had to join Al-Hilal. He signed a Four-Year Deal with the club but it just lasted of only one year due to the bad  management of the club and the painful decision the management made concerning his future to the club. "With Chelsea, I had a great experience. The Premier League is fantastic. Lots of intensity, lots of goals, very fast players, great talents. They expected the Koulibaly from Napoli, but I don't think my season has been that bad. I needed time: in one year,  I couldn't demonstrate what I would have wanted due to the choices of the manager and the club".




4. Mateo Kovacic.

A five-year veteran for Chelsea had left the club and made a Permanent move to the withstanding winner of UEFA Champions League: Manchester City. The veteran made appearances at the Stamford Bridge 221 times and helped the team to be the kings of Europe by winning the Champions League, Europa League, UEFA Supercup and FIFA Club World Cup. 

The 29-year old Croatian Player joined Chelsea from Real Madrid in 2018 where he Made a lot of achievements with the club but Manchester City has paid the Croatian £25 million with extra £5 Million for add-ons.





5. Ruben Loftus-Cheek. 

Loftus-Cheek has been a blue for 19 years. He joined Chelsea as a Under-8 and made his debut in 2014 where he made 155 senior appearances. The played for the senior team for nine years until AC Milan had to buy him permanently. 




Loftus-Cheek departed Chelsea with Premier League,  Europa League, and the Supercup medals.




6. Edouard Mendy. 

Mendy had to leave Chelsea after three seasons to become a permanent keeper of the Saudi Arabia's Al-Ahli. He played a key role for Chelsea on their win of the 2021 Champions League.



 

He main reason why the Senegalese Goalkeeper had to go to Saudi is to help his family in Senegal.  He got signed at the amount of £16 million.


7. César Azpilicueta. 

The longest-serving captain of Chelsea unfortunately has to say goodbye to the club. After the club showed true love for him and himself contributed for the club amazing scores and winning nine trophies with the club.




The 33-year old made his debut with Chelsea in 2012 from Marseille. He made 508 appearances and won two Premier League seasons, the English League Cup, a FA Cup, two Europa League, one Champions League, one UEFA Supercup, and a FIFA Club World Cup. He became the captain in 2019 and he became dedicated to the club. But he has to go back to his country and play for Altetico Madrid.  He was signed in a free transfer and given a number 3 by the club. He is and will always be a legend of Chelsea for his remarkable leadership, discipline and determination towards the club.
